Dr Rachel Tan Yan Xin

DENTAL SURGEON

Dr Rachel Tan graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery from the University of Adelaide. While most who know her would describe her as a cheerful and easy-going person, she is also passionate and committed to excellence.

Dr Rachel was the top student of her graduating cohort. She was awarded the Moore Medal, Health Partners Prize for Ethical Conduct, Executive Dean’s Certificate of Merit and Dental Board of SA prize during her years of training. Dr Rachel has gained valuable experience working in South Australia and Tasmania before returning back to Singapore for good. With her previous background in accountancy at Nanyang Technology University of Singapore, Dr Rachel has developed a meticulous nature that translates well to her current work practice. It complements her strong compassion for others: she always ensures that every patient who walks through the door is comfortable and well taken care of down to the smallest details.

Upon graduation, Dr Rachel has remained actively committed to upgrading her skillsets through various professional development workshops. She is registered with both the Australian Health Practitioners Dental Board (AHPRA) and Singapore Dental Council. She is also a member of the College of General Dental Practitioners (CDGP).

Dr Rachel strongly believes in giving back to the community. She has been regularly involved in community projects back in University. One of which is the Community Outreach Dental Program that provides care to homeless and vulnerable people including refugees and asylum seekers. Outside of working at Joy Dental, Dr Rachel enjoys playing sports, spending time outdoors, hiking, and photography. She also loves a good cup of tea.
